Frequently Asked Questions about MERILab

What is Dynamic Alignment?

Dynamic Alignment is a method of measuring the wheel alignment of a vehicle based on how the tire's tread contacting the road surface wants to roll down the road. The MERILab Dynamic Aligner evaluates the resulting forces, adjusts the roller modules until there are no forces involved, and thus determines the alignment of the vehicle.
What is DataWeb, and how does it differ from Data Collection?
DataWeb is an enhancement of the MERILab Data Collection System that provides the plant with valuable analysis of the alignment equipment and process. The Data Collection system connects the alignment process to associated equipment and systems such as reset and audit machines, and provides the means of acquiring and disseminating the resulting information. The DataWeb System takes the data obtained by the Data Collection system and sends it via e-mail to MERILab where automatic reports are generated and analyzed by alignment experts who then notify the customers of any significant trends.

What is the benefit of a service contract?

A MERILab service contract assures that a MERILab service representative will visit your plant on a routine basis to inspect, maintain, and make any necessary adjustments to the equipment. This is an effective way to keep your equipment functioning well and extend the life of the machine.
Is MERILab the same as Merrill Engineering Laboratories?

When the ownership of Merrill Engineering Laboratories changed from Marcellus S. Merrill to M. Stanley Merrill in 1986, the name of the company was changed to MERILab, signifying a new era in the company's history. Therefore, the company is technically the same, but in reality, MERILab surpasses the old Merrill Engineering Laboratories in engineering prowess, innovation, customer focus, service, and flexibility.
