MERILab and MERILab Ltd. manufacture production line roll test machines that perform one of the final tests in the assembly process prior to the vehicles leaving the build area. As such, they provide a repeatable test environment to gather useful data which, when used in conjunction with SPC, allows the quality department and management the tools for monitoring trends.

MERILab has designed the roll test machines to be robust, easy to maintain, efficient, and reliable. In order to ensure this, the mechanical design makes it possible to interface the roll test facility with the other end-of-line test activities to provide an integrated, seamless operation.

While the roll test machines are often tailored to satisfy individual customer preferences, they generally include wheelbase adjustment, exhaust extraction, and vehicle cooling. A monitor displays test cycle information to the driver in the form of text prompts, or may include an actual test cycle trace for the driver to follow with a cursor. These test cycles may be modified or new ones written by the customer.
